BIOGRAPHY
Tom Dunmire is originally from Miami, FL where he grew up with one younger sister, Jill, and many cousins. His mom taught elementary school and his father worked as a lineman for FPL.
After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Florida as a Sunshine State Scholar. While pursuing a degree in Building Construction, Tom met his now wife Karen. Upon graduating with honors Tom and Karen moved to Naples, FL. There he worked as a project manager in residential construction building multi-million dollar homes. However, he found it unfulfilling.
With the support of Karen and his family, he returned to UF and received his Masters Degree in Elementary Education. Leaving Gainesville, FL was difficult but Jill, a Fulton County Media Specialist, convinced him to move to Atlanta.
Tom now lives in Windward and loves teaching Kindergarten at Creek View. He tries to create an academically challenging and socially enriching classroom environment. He believes in a student centered approach where boys and girls have a variety of learning opportunities.
Tom and Karen have two children a daughter and a son.
